How do CD-ED's Tuition Prices Compare?

University courses are not the same as a career-based training institution such as CD-ED. Universities prepare you for academia and theory, taking years to complete, while CD-ED prepares you for practical real-world job experience in months, not years. Keep in mind that many of our programs are simply not available at a traditional university.

However, we've done our best to demonstrate the monetary benefits of an online education with CD-ED. For instance:

• A comparable course at the Open University in the UK could cost as much as $12,701 USD (£7,860).

  NOTE: OU courses were chosen to build a course comparable to our Business Accounting diploma program at $10,075 USD, or £6,235. Courses comparable to our digital arts programs are simply not available at OU.
  
  

• A 4-year Arts program at the University of Florida, assuming you live near by, will cost $17,490 - plus transportation.
• If you are not a Florida resident, it will cost $94,970. [Source]

Compare that to our average tuition of only $10,464 for your entire education.

Finally, there are no hidden fees at CD-ED. The tuition price you see is the tuition price you pay, unlike universities which have hidden costs such as books, transportation, and registration fees.

Sometimes, exemptions and discounts are also possible. Talk to your admissions rep!

Course fees vary per program and can be found in the table below or on the student enrollment agreement. Students may pay fees by cash, check, or money order. Check and money orders should be made payable to The Centre for Distance Education. Postdated checks are not accepted for tuition costs. Private bank financing may be available; call us or email our financial department for details: 1.866.729.2299

Tuition by Program

 

Tuition Fees are set by DArTT and are all-inclusive. We reserve the right to make changes to the regulations and fees. Fee changes affect only new applicants. See the application form for the most current tuition fees.

Payment Options

There are many avenues for possible funding. Private loans (through your own bank or credit union), credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, and Discover), and of course, you may negotiate funding terms through the financial institution of your choice. If you have any questions or concerns regarding funding, please contact our Financial Assistance Office. We will be happy to help you over any funding hurdles you might encounter.

Refunds and Withdrawal Policy

If you withdraw during the early part of a full-time program, you may be eligible for a refund of a portion of your tuition based on the Enrollment Agreement under Refund Portion.

Should a student’s enrollment be terminated or cancelled for any reason, all refunds will be made according to the following refund schedule:

1. Cancellation can be made in person, by electronic mail, by Certified Mail or by termination.
2. All monies will be refunded if the school does not accept the applicant or if the student cancels within three (3) business days after signing the enrollment agreement and making initial payment.
3. Cancellation after the third (3rd) Business Day, but before the first class, results in a refund of all monies paid, with the exception of the registration fee (not to exceed $150.00).
4. Cancellation after attendance has begun, but prior to 40% completion of the program, will result in a Pro Rata refund computed on the number of hours completed to the total program hours.
5. Cancellation after completing 40% of the program will result in no refund.
6. Termination Date: in calculating the refund due to a student, the last date of actual attendance by the student is used in the calculation unless earlier written notice is received.
7. Refunds will be made within 30 days of termination of students’ enrollment or receipt of Cancellation Notice from student.
   

NOTE: This applies only if Centre for Distance Education receives a written notice of withdrawal from the student before the times indicated in the agreement.

No refund shall be issued until all equipment, software, and learning materials are returned at the student’s expense, in their original packaging, and received by the Centre for Distance Education. The equipment and materials must be in reasonable condition. Service charges for the use of the hardware, software, and learning materials or for replacement of damaged equipment may be applied.
