CD-ED provides an online learning environment rich with resources. Please see below for information on our online Students’ Centre, Residence, our Guidance Office and Tutorial Centre and our Help Desk and Administration.
But you get more than that when you are accepted to CD-ED. Here, you are not just a student – you become part of the CD-ED family. Each student is considered an individual, not a number. If you are falling behind, your instructor will contact you to discuss what he or she can do to help. But you don’t have to wait to be contacted. If you are having problems with your program, please call our toll-free help number at 1.866.797.5333. The sooner you call, the sooner you’re back on track.
Our Student Centre is built around the needs of our students. Our testing areas are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so our students can set their own schedules for completing their program's weekly requirements.
As a CD-ED student, the Students’ Centre will provide you with online orientation that explains how to use your binder, and how to access technical support and help from instructors. You will also be allowed to log in to access Online Tests, Lessons, Downloads, the Student Forums and the Assignment Upload Utility. Students will also be able to view a Report Card of their progress. Each Report Card details the student's progress in each course within their program in real time. There is also a Steps to Success resource library to assist present and past students in their employment search, as well as a general resource Library and a set of Forums where our students can converse with each other and with their instructors.
We’re very excited about our Residence, a relatively new addition to the Student Centre. Just like a physical residence, it’s a great way to get to know your fellow students and make friends! Clicking on the Residence’s online map leads you to the online ‘rooms’ created by students in their area, either provincially in Canada or internationally across the world. Students can customize the colour of each web page “room,” and there is a lot of space for content and a list of links.
Our guidance counselor has her very own online Guidance Office, with an enormous virtual pamphlet collection. The Guidance Office gives students who visit the Students’ Centre a direct line to her helpful ear. Our guidance counselor can help you plumb undiscovered potential in yourself, and suggest academic, career, and personal challenges you may want to explore.
Our Tutorial Centre is full of fantastic information that can help you learn how to how to become a better student. Resources range from tips on email etiquette to advice on how to manage your time better.
We’ve streamlined the Help Desk for easy access to technical and academic support. Here you will find a list of Academic Questions Answered and Technical Questions Answered, along with a Link Library that provides useful and interesting links to outside sources. Suggest your own!
An Administration section has been added so any student can easily change their contact information or get in touch with the school administration directly, should the need arise. There is also a Suggestion Box, where you can have your say. Whether it's a complaint, a suggestion, or a glowing testimonial, be assured that we read every one and take it into consideration. Student Services are at the top of our list here at CD-ED, and you can help us make them even better!
