
As a Medical Office Administration graduate, you will be proficient in office practices and software, enabling you to manage a medical office, receive visitors, and build applications. There is a strong emphasis placed on learning medical terminology & transcription throughout the program.
Students learn how to transcribe medical reports quickly and easily with the knowledge gained from the terminology component of the course.
This program prepares graduates for entry level administrative office support positions in a medical facility. The program provides comprehensive coverage and integration of business skills, along with those skills necessary to function in a facility with a medical focus (e.g. insurance companies, hospitals, physicians’ offices and clinics).
Medical Office Administrators may find employment in private physician practices, including but not limited to general practitioners, dental offices, optometrists, and other specialists. Hospitals and medical clinics also employ medical office administrators to oversee daily operational activities.
Entry-level Medical Secretaries earn an average of US $27,000.

Learn the latest Windows operating system, including using the desktop, managing files and folders, and using the Windows Help & Support.
Provides a step-by-step introduction to all aspects of the Internet. Topics covered include browsers, searching techniques, and email.
Learn how to create and format a wide variety of business documents from a simple business letter to a formal report, using columns, tables, bullet lists, mail merge, embed objects from other applications, check spelling & grammar, and use tools to automate tasks.
Learn the fundamentals of creating a database, including defining a table structure, entering records and previewing tables. Learn to restructure tables and use query statements to create reports.
Learn the terminology and anatomy of the human body based on the twelve body systems. Spelling and pronunciation will also be covered.
Learn how to work effectively within a medical environment including being acquainted with medical ethics and law, interacting with patients, telecommunications, medical record management, scheduling appointments and travel arrangements.
Learn the fundamentals of pronouncing and deciphering the medical terminology covered in earlier modules. Learn how to recognize by ear the terminology for all the major specialty areas, and how to quickly and easily transcribe these into a medical report.
Learn the essentials of business communication demanded in the modern office environment. Develop flexible attitudes and special sensitivity to the effects of culture while learning to think critically.
Learn to touch-type at a speed of 50wpm. This is an instructional program designed to give you a high degree of flexibility and success in meeting your goals for effective typing skills. Runs concurrently throughout most of the program with extra practice included.
You will learn the fundamentals of filing through a series of instructions, exercises, and quizzes using a mini filing system which simulates business documents that would be found in a professional office.
