Medical Terminology - now available Separately!Programs

A must have to be considered for employment in any medical environment!

 

Are you interested in learning spelling, pronunciation, and meaning of medical terms? This course will analyze medical terms derived from Greek and Latin prefixes, suffixes, and root words.

 

You will learn terms used to describe parts of the body, locations in the body, bodily functions, diseases, surgical and clinical procedures, measurements, medical instruments, and many others.

 

You will use the body systems approach to learn terminology of the 12 body systems: integumentary, skeletal, muscular, digestive, nervous, endocrine, eyes and ears, cardiovascular, lymphatic and immune, respiratory, urinary, and reproductive.

This course is a must for anyone interested in working in a medical setting.

  • In this focused 10-week program, you'll learn the root words of each body system, as well as prefixes and suffixes. You will know how the body and its related terminology is organized, including the skin, the skeletal system, the muscular system, and countless other specialized areas.


Since all of our programs are flexible and available at your convenience, you’ll easily be able to continue working while upgrading your skills – or learning about an exciting new field!


This course has been successfully delivered as part of our Medical Office Administration program for years. It is currently being readied for single-course delivery, and we expect it to be available for enrolment this summer.


Pre-requisites include:
Access to a computer with Windows XP or later and an Internet connection; basic computer knowledge; and proficiency in typing.
